Random shots 1

As this website was put together quickly, I’ve left a few categories for the time being as random ones.

The pipe-smoking woman is from one of Vietnam’s ethnic minorities and was taken not far from the town of Khe Sanh, where the famous battle was fought in 1968. The almost idyllic rice field scene is, if I remember correctly, from the Plain of Jars in central Laos, while the bent obelisk photo reads Afghanistan in Russian Cyrillic. This, I believe, I saw and photographed in Bendery, near the Dnestr River, in Moldova’s breakaway very pro-Russian province that has since the 1990s called itself the Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic, aka Transnistria.

Finally, the macro shot was taken closer to home in New Jersey where bugs are aplenty!
