Bangladesh is one of the word’s poorest and most crowded countries but despite that it possesses an abundance of positive energy at the street level. Of the following photos, the street demonstration one is from Dhaka and the aging Toyota Land Cruiser and colorful fishing boats are from Teknaf at the country’s southernmost tip.
However, the other shot, the one showing tarps covering ramshackle huts, was taken at the Kutupalong-Balukhali refugee camp near Cox’s Bazar. Here, in one the world’s largest refugee camps, live Rohingya people from Myanmar. These were victims of a vicious ethnic cleansing campaign that many countries and International institutions now call genocidal.
